FAQ

  • LEGAL

To be legally married in Ireland, everybody must register their intention to get married with the HSE at least three months in advance of your marriage. This takes about 30 minutes and costs 200Euro. You will be given a marriage "licence" (green folder) which you must bring with you on your wedding day.

Your license will then be signed with me on your wedding day along with your two witnesses.

The folder must then be returned by you to the HSE registry office where you will obtain your marriage certificate.

  • What does the celebrant wear?

I will be dressed smartly but discreetly no robes or special attire.

  • Can my dog be part of the ceremony?

I have no problem. I am an animal lover myself, but it is best to check with the venue.

  • Can I get married outside?

Yes you can, but to be legally married you must follow the legal requirements.

  • Can I customise my wedding?

Yes all weddings include the vows ring exchange and pronouncement, but you can add any readings music and your own personal love story or any little touches you want.
